About Me

I'm a hardworking student with a passion for technology.

I was born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia. Today, being a college student in the United States has given me the opportunity of pursuing new goals and I am grateful for this. I have been programming for two years and my desire to learn more keeps growing.

Currently, I'm the Controls Team Leader for UMIGV, a new club with the goal of building an autonomous vehicle for competition. This has sparked my interest in Autonomous Robotics and I'm excited to see what we can achieve in the near future.

My experiences in college, which include participating in Hackathons, Design clubs, and working as a Diversity Peer Educator have given me a wide array of skills over the past two years.

  • Proficient in C++, MATLAB, and Python
  • Experience using Unity3D
  • Experience using ROS
  • Communication
  • Efficient use of GitHub
  • Profficient in Spanish, English, and French

Campus Involvement

The following clubs and jobs have developped my leadership and technical skills.

University of Michigan Intelligent Ground Vehicle

I joined this club at the beggining of my sophomore year and I am now the Controls Team Leader. I've learnt how to create ROS nodes that communicate with each other to handle the robot's processes independently.

Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers

As a member of the LeaderSHPE council I have coordinated events such as Global Bonanza to spread information on Hispanic culture. I've networked with people like me with whom I share similar interests.

Diversity Peer Educator

I try to apply what I've learnt working for housing as a Diversity Peer Educator to my everyday life. I deal with bias incidents on-campus and this has significantly improved my communication skills.
